Douglas G. B. Dye
 A native of California, Douglas G. B. Dye has been creating exquisite and beautiful interiors for clients for over 30 years with his emphasis on translating the client’s desires into their reality.
After studying design here in California and abroad he started his career in the commercial design world. Douglas brings to the Nielsen Dye Design Firm years of personal and intimate home interior design experience. His residential projects range from single room projects to complete home designs, all starting from the initial blueprint stage to the final drawings and all with the client as part of the design process.
Douglas has completed projects throughout the US and Internationally. Awarded a Presidential Citation from A.S.I.D. [The American Society for Interior Designers] for his work in the industry, Douglas is successful in assisting clients create the project of their dreams.
“The style is set by the client,” noted Douglas. “My work is not inclined to a particular aesthetic.” It’s the clients’ dreams that he is expert in bringing to fruition through color, spatial balance, refined taste, attention to details and budgets in mind. |

Philip S. Nielsen
 Philip S. Nielsen has been in the Home Furnishings industry for over 30 years and is studied in all aspects of the business, from Design to Merchandising to Marketing to Product Development to Sales. Philip has also worked for some of the biggest names in the Home Industry, most notably in key executive and creative positions for Ralph Lauren Home in New York City and Los Angeles for 14 years. Philip’s love of Home Furnishings and Interior Design has now taken him to this very important next career move; partnering with Douglas in the Nielsen Dye Design Firm.
Philip has worked on Interior Design projects in California as well as New York, always bringing a design sensibility and aesthetic to each customer’s home. Philip’s design philosophy is “a client’s home needs to be ‘livable’ but can be luxurious at the same time.”
“My design approach is to emphasize high-style but with a ‘comfortable’ aesthetic approach,” Philip notes. “I love the use of color as well. All rooms need that ‘WOW’ factor and color... whether it is paint or a decorative piece or even a rug... can add so much to the client’s room and the final design.” |
